Found out about this exciting event while I was doing my morning read at ShopCrazy:

And then I saw it is scheduled on May 17 — the day we depart for Hongkong. A bit upsetting as I am looking forward to attending the one-day expo and listen to talks about the following topics:
- Caring for Baby’s Teeth
- Choosing a School For Your Child: Progressive vs Traditional Learning
- Training Your Yaya/Family and Yaya Partnership
I was also looking forward to visiting the booths of retailers such as David & Goliath and Aqualogic Swim, and the booths of Mompreneurs.

If your planning to get a new health insurance then you better “shop” for one first. It’s true. These days, even health insurance quotations can be made online. Do an online search and you may find Kaiser Health Insurance Plans which offers quality medical insurance coverage at affordable prices. Of course, this method of applying online for a health insurance is still uncharted territory here in the Philippines but it will definitely catch on since it educates and informs without costs – which is really the reason why we shop first before buying. Since the quotes are US –based we can really only learn from it and apply it to what we should ask from local providers. ‘Cause whether it’s a developed or a 3rd world country, health care IS health care.

I had always wanted to do a virtual makeover, but the only website I knew that offers this type of service doesn’t offer the service for free!
So so when I saw Joy had made herself over via the online site of InStyle, I just had to do it (it’s f-r-e-e, you see
)!
I really had a fun time doing this makeover. Hubby could tell as I was laughing like a crazy woman while I was doing this thing. If only I could show you the horrendous results that made me insanely laugh! Of course, I choose not to — just plain ugly!
Anyways, here are the better results (as far as I’m concerned) of my virtual makeover:

Hubby doesn’t like this. So let’s move on to the next pic, shall we?

Is it preggo season or is it preggo season? Two of my blogging buddies, Peachy and Mich have been visited by the stork and I just feel so happy for them! This makes me want to have another baby, though not this soon (maybe in the next year or two). This time, I am hoping it would be a girl. I am actually not just hoping, I am determined to make it a girl! Why? Because it is more fun to shop for girls’ baby clothes! (Babaw!)

I’ve been looking around for some party invitation ideas as early as now for our next big party. Ever since we made Manu’s 1st birthday party invite, I’ve wanted to top it with a better format and theme. I don’t want to end up copying another invite since I want our invited guests to see it as unique and well-prepared. I was checking out a site preparing invites for the not so frequent events. If they can make nice Kentucky Derby Party Invitations (a very unusual event!) then a birthday invitation would be a cinch. I think its worth checking out some more.

I must admit that I am not fond of reading books, thus my lack of vocabulary and mediocre writing
I don’t want to pass this on to my son so I make it a point to buy a book or two when we go to the bookstore and read to him these books before bedtime (or if I am not around, the yaya).
Lately, I’ve been searching for books that Manu will enjoy and at the same time, learn from. The internet has been a great tool as I’ve come across more selections of books compared with our local bookstores. Because of this, I am seriously considering buying from the internet because aside from the vast selections, I could get better deals and discounts for my purchases. Here are some of the books I am looking to buy. I really would appreciate if you could give me your own review on these reads.

I’ve receiving a lot of text messages, recently, from different banks and financing institutions offering salary loans of various kinds. I’ve never really entertained the offers, though, since (1) we get by with the combined salaries that my husband and I put together and (2) I think that it would cost an arm and a leg just to pay the principal and interest. Of course I’m basing #2 on the assumption that finance charges would be same as credit card chargers since both are considered short term – which I haven’t really verified. But guess what I recently found out regarding such short term loans? Well, it gets even shorter! There’s now what is called payday loan. Let me correct that, it is a “No Fax Payday Loans” as everything’s done online nowadays. I guess the name is pretty explanatory but to clarify further, the term of this loan is as short as 2 weeks. The term sounds pretty familiar? It is also called a cash advance, but given by another company and with interest. So if you’re in the market for a very short term loan, you can probably consider this no fax payday loan in the future. I’m sure local banks and financial institutions will be creating such products soon. But mind the interest payment! It’s the bitter ingredient in the “pill.”

I recently purchased some items for Manu from an online store (credits to Peachy for introducing me to the site!). I saved a lot since the merchandise from this online merchant were on sale. But I could have saved a whole lot more if I used discount coupons from CouponChief.com, a one stop coupon deal and discount resource center. Good thing I found out about this before the easter “gift-giving” season comes. I’ll definitely take advantage of the huge discounts by using target coupon codes when I shop online at Target. I’ll also advise my husband to use amazon coupons from now on as he regularly buys books from Amazon.

There’s been an influx, lately, of green products partly because of the movie-documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” and partly because a lot of people really care about taking care of our planet’s future. If you’re the type of person who’d bring a reusable shopping bag for groceries, would unconsciously segregate trash before throwing to the garbage cans or simply walk the next mile to conserve gas and avoid pollution; or if you want to take the first step into being environment-sensitive, then this website is for you: http://www.greenandmore.com/. GreenandMore.com offers hundred of eco friendly products of which you can compare your products at home to ensure its environmental friendliness. You can find everything from energy saving appliances, solar power products, home improvement, water conservation, eco furniture, lighting, garden products, outdoor living, home décor and accessories. What I like about the site is the “what’s new” page wherein the latest eco-friendly items are displayed.
For those who want to keep tabs on the latest “green” news or events, the site also has a blog page where everyone can read or even share information. A few minutes into the site and I already found myself intrigued with the effort put up to sustain eco-friendliness word-wide. I hope that I can do my part in creating eco-friendly lifestyle and encouraging others to do the same.
