Walking on the Red Carpet
In a month’s time, my little boy will be marching down the aisle again, this time, as a ring bearer. I am so excited about this as he is now old enough to walk alone and most importantly, walk with the rings in a suit! Oh I cannot wait to see that! Another thing that I am excited about is I get a chance to glam up once more
You know – wear a nice evening dress, put on a pair of silver stilettos, don more than the everyday makeup, and all that fuss
I just love glamming up since it’s not everyday that I get the chance to look as if I’m walking on the red carpet
There’s just a bit of a problem though. I still am big and need to lose 10 lbs (can hear the husband laughing now) quick. Is it now the time to say hello to diet pills or would my not-so regular visits at the gym suffice? I better decide on this soon if I want to look like a star on “the red carpet”
“Toddler-Proofing” the Doors
We’ve been thinking of installing double locks in our bedroom and main door since our son can now easily reach the door handles. We’ve been dreading this moment since we can no longer rely on the standard door knob lock to keep him in (or out). Since we live in a condo unit, this is an issue. We don’t want to just wake up one morning and find that he’s already gone outside without a grown-up supervising him. I guess its time to consider some new door hardware for added safety.
Binata Na
There are photos of my little boy that just makes me gasp in wonder on how he has grown for the past couple of years. This is one of those few pictures that makes me realize that he’ll be binata in no time! I think I’ll go crazy once he starts dating
I’m afraid I might give the girlfriends a really difficult time (hmmm… installing a wireless security system may be a good idea
)
Weekend Snapshot #6
:::The commoner, the spider woman, and the dinosaur:::
You know how difficult it is to have a two year old kid pose for the camera so just imagine how ecstatic we were when we had these toddlers pose like this – all at the same time! And just look at where my little’s boy’s hand is placed?
Lomo Pic of the Week
The 1st Project
At the end of each week, the school sends out a newsletter that offers parents a sneak peek on the major classroom activities of their kids. I always look forward to reading these weekly bulletins but this one below got me especially excited:
It’s my little boy’s first ever project!
Me and the husband immediately brainstormed (hahaha) on what the design theme will be. It was a no brainer actually. The design will all be about dinosaurs
The binoculars which came from school were just two pieces of empty tissue paper rolls that were glued together. Just imagine how it looked like since I didn’t any more took a picture of it. Now, a picture of it “semi-bare”, i.e., after the dad finished putting extra cardboard rolls at both ends of the rolls and gluing several cut-out pieces of tissue paper on the “very bare” binoculars:
And here’s the finished project!
TGIF

I know this is ridiculously late because my time already reads 1:52am, Monday, March 15, but WTH.
We didn’t go through our normal weekend routine as we went to Canyon Woods to celebrate relatives’ birthdays. I was looking forward to this gathering since we were told by my MIL, as Manu will get to meet and play with cousins he doesn’t see often. We already expected that Manu will be having loads of fun (not to mention loads of pawis from running around open spaces within the village
) from the party, and he did. Take a look at some of the photos I took from my new Powershot, which I painstakingly chose among several digital cameras:
:::with an improvised cap

:::”yaya, hot!”; he kept on playing though:::
:::1st one to the finish line wins! (obviously!):::
:::refuses to go down this slide without his yaya:::
:::buti na lang sangkatututak ang dala kong damit. see how he sweats!:::
:::suko na ang lolo sa kanya:::
Weekend Snapshot #1
Rather than going to our usual weekend hangout (which is either Timezone or Fun Ranch
), we decided to let Manu experience something more educational. Thus, a trip to Manila Ocean Park. Above is a photo taken minutes before Manu got all overwhelmed (and scared) of the underwater tunnel experience
My Manu-saurus Rex
My little boy is obsessed with dinosaurs! From the time he goes to bed until the time he wakes up, all he talks about are dinosaurs! There are times I think he even dreams about them (we once heard him talking in his sleep — he was asking mommy for dinosaurs!
). At school, he carries the dinosaur toys all around the classroom. At home, his favorite shows to watch are The Land Before Time, Dinosaur Movie, and Jurassic Park 1, 2, and 3 (yes, he likes them would you believe?). Here’s a picture of him watching The Land Before Time (for the nth time!) while holding one of his dinosaur books:
He has dinosaur toys of all shapes and sized, and his collection is increasing (by a piece!
) by the week!
He is also fond of reading dino books.
And most of all, he likes to play dinosaur pretend! RAAARRRRR!!!!
The Pre-Nursery Open House
Two weeks ago, we were invited by Manu’s School for the Pre-Nursery Open House. I was excited, of course, as this was going to be my very first as a mom
The Open House aimed to discuss the pre-nursery curriculum and show how a typical day of school goes via a video presentation. The presentation was very detailed as it showed:
- how the kids entered the class (standing on colorful paper cut-outs while lining up before the classroom door)
- how they washed their little hands before the class and before snack time (i like this very much — teaching the kids proper hygiene)
- how they sang the “Hello! Hello!” song during circle time
- how Manu doesn’t want to hold hands with a classmate (he kept on removing his hands every time his classmate grabs them for the song
)
- how they proceeded to the different learning centers (block area, dramatic play area, library, art center)
