Of Randy’s and Debbie’s
I have veered away from Greenbelt 5 for the past few days in an effort to prevent myself from purchasing an outfit for this Sunday’s wedding. I thought that I’d just wear that Debbie Co top I purchased a month back, and pair it with black skinny pants. Problem is, I still have to purchase the pants since I don’t have the black skinny ones. So I looked. And looked. Fit. Then fit some more. By yesterday, I was still unsuccessful. This was when I decided to surrender to the calling of that all-Filipino strip of boutiques at GB5. I knew without a doubt that I would see something of my liking there. I knew it will be from Myth. And I knew it would be from Randy Ortiz. And right I am.
It was a red taffeta dress with a ruched reckline (very similar to the Randy Ortiz dress featured on page 132 of the December 2007 issue of Preview). The SA thought it looked “cute” on me. I thought so too. So to the SA I said, “I’ll sleep over it. If I still want it tomorrow, I’ll be back”. So to make this short story shorter, I didn’t buy it. But I still desire it. Anyhoo, if I do decide to get it, I will let you know.
The search is almost over
I’ve been going around my favorite shops for the past couple of weeks in search for this year’s Christmas Party Outfit. No, we don’t have a themed party, I just want to dress up on such occasions
I thought it’d be easy for me to see one at Mango, (where I had bought gorgeous tops for past parties) or at another favorite shop, Zara. But after going to these shops almost every other day (hoping new stocks would arrive), nothing caught my fancy. Last night, I went to Tyler and tried on almost everything inside their stockroom but I didn’t like any of the pieces that I fit. I was getting a bit worried as I only have a few days left for shopping. And then I decided to go to Debbie Co’s shop along Jupiter. Honestly, I was thinking I would go out of her shop empty handed because when I went to the Urban Rockwell Bazaar to see her stuff, I was unimpressed. Still, I was confident that Debbie wouldn’t fail me so I decided to brave through Buendia traffic to see her.
I love Debbie and her staff. They recognize me (Debbie when we saw each other at Korea Garden, and her staff when we met at the bazaar) even if I had just made a single purchase from them. So when I was there earlier, they treated me as any customer would want to be treated. Anyways, miss …(gosh I forgot her name already!) immediately assisted me and showed me several pieces from the rack. After picking three pieces – two tops and a dress, I was led to their fitting room. I immediately loved the first one I tried, but I had to loose 10 pounds to fit in that shirt! But since I liked it so much, miss (?) told me they’d do a bit (really?!) of adjusting if I decide to get it. But they didn’t need to do that because when I put on piece number two, I was in love! Everything about it was perfect – style, color, and fit (well, almost. debbie suggested to alter the fit just a teeny weeny bit). Aylabiiit!!! Now I just have to find the perfect shoes to match and I’m all set. I’m so happeee…
