I was so excited about last Saturday because of the dinosaur exhibit at The Fort Strip. You see, Manu is so C-R-A-Z-Y about dinosaurs! He plays with his dinosaur toys every morning, noon, and night. He asks for his favorite The Land Before Time Series or Dinosaur Movie when he wakes up and before he sleeps at night. He has numerous books but those with dinosaurs as subject are his favorites. He playswith the dinosaur toys at school and carries them everywhere in the classroom! So when I was told about the life-sized dinosaur models, I got so excited that I wanted to take him right away (which was like in the middle of Sunday mass ) . I wasn’t able to, unfortunately, because we already made plans. But as soon as the next weekend arrived I made sure that he sees his beloved dinosaurs!

Manu didn’t want to be put down at first but when he saw the other kids playing around and touching the dinos, he went around and started touching them too (except for the two T-Rex’s, which incidentally, are his favorites ).

Before I forget, you might want to take a quick peek at what’s on sale inside the shops at Boni High Street.  We went there after our dino visit and saw several stores on sale. I myself was able to chance upon some really nice (and discounted) pieces at La Senza. I wanted to try on their ultra soft and fluffy robes, cute pj’s, babydolls, and night gowns but settled instead with undergarments that I need the most.

I did an online search on wedding favors earlier (you could tell I have a lot of spare time on my hands ). I couldn’t believe that there are a gazillion more choices compared to when I was planning my own wedding. I was surprised that aside from the usual wedding souvenirs, most suppliers now offer a variety of wedding accessories such as groomsmen and bridesmaid gifts, ring bearer and flower girl accessories, and welcome baskets. Speaking of breakfast, I almost lost my appetite for it when I learned that another one of our company vehicles got into an accident. Although this is already the third car that got caught into an accident this month, I am still thankful as none of our employees were physically harmed. I am also lucky that our company’s insurance needs are being serviced by a dependable insurance broker. They definitely make life easier for me as just a few calls are needed and the claim is immediately dealt with. So unless they start giving me headaches, transferring accounts is an issue I’m not going to bother with.

Next on my (ever-changing) wishlist: Something in mini lin ebene and/or pomme.

Ever since I went off the pill, my face started acting up. My t-zone became as oily as ever, and as a result, pimples started popping out of my face, particularly on my forehead. I’ve been religiously treating them using the topical medication but the effects are only temporary. As soon as a pimple dries up, two new ones immediately start to appear! I really think it’s time for a totally new regimen. I’ve been hearing a lot lately about the Proactiv acne cream though I still have to consult about its efficacy. To be on the safe side, I guess I’ll take a trip to my dermatologist soon to end my acne problems.

My Five Make-Up Essentials:

1. Shu Uemura’s Velvet Perfect Powder Foundation

If I could only bring one make-up essential in my purse, this would be it. I’ve been using this powder foundation for several years and I don’t plan on shifting to another brand any time soon (I am curious though how the MAC Studio Fix will perform on my skin). I love that it comes in powder form as I am not a big fan of cream foundations. Its coverage is neither too thick nor thin; just enough to hide some of the flaws. It’s perfect for everyday use.

2. Cinema Secrets Concealer

I just started using a concealer this year. Yep, just this year as I never found the need for it (haha!) until recently. I really wanted to buy YSL’s Touche’ Eclat or Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage but in the end decided to road test Cinema Secrets. The concealer does eliminate dark circles, spots, and redness, though not completely. It haven’t caked on my face so far so that’s a plus. Overall, I’d probably give it a B.

3. Bobbi Brown Blush

Bobbi Brown was the first brand of make-up that I fell in love with. I especially love their lipsticks and blushes.

4. Burts Bees Lip Shimmer

Great for dry lips like mine and the hint of color isn’t bad either. This probably is the second most essential piece in my make-up kit.

5. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

I had this eyelash curler for several years already and I absolutely love it! This product truly delivers the perfect curl! I urge you to go and get one for yourself (if you don’t have it yet)
