Right Now…

…I have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Seven! huge zits on my forehead. They just keep popping out like mushrooms! Just when a zit dries up, another one comes popping out! Sheesh! Dra. Cabral, I think I need a one-on-one consultation immediately!

…my alexa rank sucks. This is what I get for not doing my daily rounds and not writing as much as I used to.

… I have just cooled off. The husband got on my nerves several hours ago. He didn’t like the way I was asking a certain question so he snarled (a bit) at me, which I didn’t like at all. When I was asking him what part of the asking he didn’t like, he just said, “Basta. Something in it.” Basta pala ha…

…I want to answer Aggie Wants To Know Topic No. 1 but I don’t know where to start.

…I’m in a shirt and Elmo-printed pj’s

…I’m really ain’t sleepy so I’ll be answering a tag or two.

Another Gas Price Increase?!?

I was just checking some news flashes last night when I saw the headline saying that another round of gas price increase was done at P1.50/liter. Anobayan?!? Everything’s so expensive right now and these regular increases aren’t helping one bit. Just last year I was able to top off our fuel tank at around P1,500+, now it’s coming to around P2,400+!! And, we’re driving a 2.4 liter vehicle which consumes at 6 km per liter. There goes part of our monthly savings. These last few increases, I’m already tempted to turn-off the auto air conditioning, though that will be last resort due to our tropical climate of course.

The Sad Truth

I was already convinced that I could go out of the house donning a short dress. But boy, I was wrong. I was trying out some dresses that I just bought recently as I was planning on wearing them during our upcoming trip. The dresses looked good alright but I didn’t look good in them. Well, if you’d look from head to just below the knees, everything would look fine, but beyond that - forget it! My legs look huge! (husband nodding his head right now). So unless I lose at least 10 more pounds, short dresses are banned in my closet (unless of course I put opaque tights or leggings underneath). So now, I’ll just mope and maybe read a book (The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch seems like a good read) before I finally get over the shocking sad truth.

“Please evacuate your units immediately!”

This was what woke me up around 9:30am last Saturday. My God, there’s a fire in our building. Where’s my boy?

“Gats, nasan si Manu?”

“Nasa baba na. Tara na.”

I lept off the bed and went straight to the bathroom. I can’t believe this is actually happening! Good thing my unit is insured. Goodness, I’ve nothing underneath this shirt! Just gonna grab my bathrobe. I need to splash some water on my face so I would look a bit decent. I’ll gargle some of this Betadine too. No I don’t have time to wear those (jewelries)!

“Kel, let’s go.”

“Ok.” Hmmm… What to grab? Wallet. Cellphone. Brush. My heart was about to leap off my chest now. I have to go. I can’t bring anything else anymore. Where are my eyeglasses? Darn, I have to go out now!

“Si Manu?”

“Nasa baba na kanina pa.”

“Ok.” Good my Melissa’s are here. At least I have nice shoes. Where’s my son?

I was finally able to calm down when I saw Manu at the lobby. We were guided to the open area where the fire trucks and police personnel were already preparing. Most of the residents have already gathered at the open space, some with big bags in hand, some with nothing in tow. Gosh, I can’t believe I am out in public with only my bathrobe on! At least I have cute shoes.

Then one of the residents, who is an active member of the community, approached my husband, and said, “Ginawa namin ito na surprise to simulate an actual fire emergency situation….”

HUWAAAAAT?!!!!

I almost had a heart attack because of this! Not to mention that I also had allowed my neighbors to see me in bedroom clothes! !@#$%^!!!!! Oh well. Can’t do anything about it now. At least I had my cute shoes on.

The cold shoulder

barely said anything to the husband yesterday.

He pissed me off BIG time.

But I’m feeling a lot calmer now.

will probably kiss and make up tonight.

Imbyerna ako kanina sa bangko namin ha!

Would you believe that they turned down a huge amount of inter-branch deposit? Kesyo daw o-over na sila sa kanilang cash limit a-choo-choo-choo. If I were an ordinary customer, I would have understood being rejected. But our company is not any ordinary customer. We are one of the bank’s valued clients. Oh, the officer should have known that as we transact with their branch every freaking day! But no, she insisted that I should go to their head office to deposit the money! WTF?! Oh, she really pissed me off. I wanted to give their VP a ring and report what she just did (actually, I would if I only knew the executive’s new mobile number). Gusto ka nang mag-taray to the max sa bangko kanina sa totoo lang. But I kept my cool. My dad always says never to lose your cool even in the toughest situations. So I just went to the bank’s main branch and did my thing there. Gawd, it was such a hassle, but at least I finished the job. When I got to the office, I received a call from the head of the branch where our account is placed. She apologized for what happened, and told me that the officer will be reprimanded for the oh-so-unfriendly service they extended to me. I appreciated (and expected ) the gesture so I guess I won’t be pulling out our account from them anymore :) .

V as in Boy

I just had a supplier call me a few minutes ago, and here’s how a part of our conversation went:

Ranting over spoiled laundry

It’s really difficult to find a decent helper these days. Early this week, I wanted to strangle mine because she stained two of my favorite white shirts! Just this morning, I found (again!) a stain on a recently purchased M&S underwear. What’s more infuriating is every time I ask her “Ano nangyari dito? Namantsahan mo na naman ba?”, she’d answer “Di ko alam ‘te. Di ko nakita.” Huuuwaaatt?!! Unbelievable! Eto pa. How come it’s MY clothes that suffer all the staining, and never my husband’s?! His barongs are white, and all are devoid of blemishes. Please explain!

My anger now 90% pacified, I decided to be a bit more patient on teaching my helper on how to do the laundry MY way. I honestly don’t have any idea on how long this will take. And frankly, I am terrified of the thought that this process would cost me. I’d allow a couple thousand pesos. And that’s that.
