Manu Just Turned 2!

March 06 was a very special (and pretty busy) day for us. Our little boy was turning two and the mom and dad prepared a fun-filled day for him.

Manu enjoys watching animals on tv and never fails to point (and identify) his favorites during shows, so going to the zoo and seeing the animals live in person was a real treat for him.

He enjoyed looking at the fish:

He adored the little rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs:

He really liked taking pictures with the birds:

He was awed when he saw the lions, tigers, bear cubs, crocodiles and whole lot of others. He enjoyed every minute of our zoo trip in fact (but was disappointed to learn that there were no elephants) that he refused to eat anything during the trip (tsk! tsk!)

It’s a good thing we had a hearty dinner, which was topped off with Italiannis’ head waiter singing the “Happy Birthday” song in Italian (funny that he sang it to a 2 year old who is just learning to speak in phrases).

Despite not seeing elephants, despite not having an appetite during the day, and despite the Italian-singing waiter, I could tell that Manu enjoyed his birthday.

Jhoanne just threw a european tea birthday party for her three year old Kim, and I absolutely adored it! Every detail was well thought of — from the pull-out tea bag invitations to the gondola place cards to the giant tea bag lootbags. More than the birthday party details (which I’m oh-so-lovin’), every kid truly enjoyed the party games that Jhoanne and Kim had prepared. The activities which were in theme included cupcake decorating, teacup stacking, teapot piƱata, fondant molding, and games such as “t” is for treasure hunt and “london bridge is falling down”.

If you want to know why I’m raving about this particular party, take a look at Kim’s party pictures:
