My Browhaus Experience
I’ve been wanting to try the eyebrow shaping service of Browhaus since they first opened, but held back due to feedbacks. But when Novi of Hairworks Salon, the girl who does my eyebrows, went on a cruise (nah, she didn’t! she just wasn’t well. hope you’re better already, novs!
) last Friday, I decided to try out Browhaus.
I went to their Greenbelt 5 branch as this was the nearest to my office. It’s not the easiest store to find though. While it’s located on the 4th floor, the salon is tucked behind the main hallway; had to ask for directions pa. Plus, the signage on their front door read “Strip”and not “Browhaus” (i forgot to ask why).
I went in and apolgized for being 10 minutes late, but I didn’t think it really mattered since the cubicles, where the services are done, were not occupied.
After filling up some forms, I was soon directed to one of their n number of cubicles. It was spacious and had a comfortable looking chair inside. Sure beats the one I sit on during threading sessions at the salon.
As soon as I was sat comfortably, the eyebrow technician (is that what they call them? haha) began to prep me by putting powder around the eyebrow area. And then she threaded. As soon as the thread touched my skin, I immediately noticed the difference between the Browhaus’ thread and the regular thread. I can’t exactly describe it but what is definite is that the former’s didn’t make me want to kick the technician
. Not totally painless, but definitely less painful. The technician was also kind enough to ask me if I was tired (of holding the skin around the eyebrow area – to prevent cuts), and if I wanted to take a break. She also showed me how and why she is doing what she is doing, e.g., she didn’t touch the top of my left brow kasi di magpapantay if she does (o ha, naubusan nako ng ingles. need to finish my judith mcnaught already
).
In the end, I still like the Novi-shaped eyebrows
But I love the seat
And I looove the thread
Thus, my second session with them next month. I hope they get my eyebrows as perfect as this next time
(actually, parang ganyan na ang kilay ko eh. almost perfect. bwahahaha
)

July 10th, 2009 at 11:53 pmi’ve been meaning to go. kaso reluctant coz i haven’t checked for reviews yet. (lahat ata ng kilala ko maganda ang kilay hahaha)
can one keep the copy of the blueprint? para papagaya ko na lng next sa iba. mwehehe. joke.
July 10th, 2009 at 11:55 pmkathy, hindi na masyadong malinis eh kasi a week has passed na. i’ll take photos next month, tapos ng 2nd session ko. hehe. yung thread na ginagamit nila, made especially for threading kaya hindi ganong kasakit
July 11th, 2009 at 12:18 amthei, there’s none. they didn’t give any to me. they didn’t really do an analysis before the session, a thing you would expect of them kasi kataasan ang charge nila di ba. they actually just ask you if you want a reshape or clean (ba yung tawag nila). i just had it cleaned kasi maganda na pagkakashape nung gumagawa talaga sa akin. pero in fairness, the girl was telling me during the session kung bakit ganito ginawa nya at hindi ganon, etc. naappreciate ko naman yun
ang maganda talaga sa kanila is the material of the thread. ibang iba sa regular thread. kung may babalikan ako, yun yun.
July 11th, 2009 at 12:25 amNaku Kelly I do threading na (David’s lang) every other month and it doesnt fail to make me cry pa din, hahaha. Hangsaket grabe! Curious ako ha, patingin next time!
And anong Judith McNaught binabasa mo? Love na love ko un!

July 13th, 2009 at 8:24 ami have mine done at david’s and it’s a crying session for me everytime. haaaay!!! but the fact that you’re going back, meaning it’s better than your usual. who’s your eyebrow technician? =)
July 13th, 2009 at 11:24 amcha, 500+ for basic threading. naku, ibang iba yung thread na ginagamit ng browhaus. less painful talaga. didn’t get the name of the girl who did mine. basta chinita sya. haha.
July 13th, 2009 at 11:26 ama must try when i get home. dito kasi twice pa lang ako nagpa-thread. it’s not that it’s painful for me. wala lang time talaga.

August 6th, 2009 at 4:12 pmHi,
Where is Hairworks Salon?
August 6th, 2009 at 4:27 pmhi chel, it’s located on the ground floor of bsa towers, legaspi street, legaspi village, makati. in front of gb5
August 6th, 2009 at 4:37 pmThanks Kelly! How much is brow threading there pala? Would you recommend there over Browhaus?
August 6th, 2009 at 4:38 pmat browhaus? basic is around 550. at hairworks, 250 plus vat. i like to try out salons so if you’re like me, i’d suggest you try them just so you can compare their service with others
i really like the thread they use. much less painful
August 6th, 2009 at 4:52 pmI’ve been hearing a lot about Browhaus lately, the only thing that’s keeping me from trying them is the price, hehe… Tsaka they don’t have a branch near Trinoma area.
I go to Acqua Salon for threading, it’s cheaper pa.
