The Makati Skyline is once again set to be changed in the coming years as the new wave of residential buildings are about to be marketed within the coming months. I heard from my husband that a couple of branded hotel operators are establishing new buildings in Makati (and Ft Bonifacio) and are even selling some of units. This got me a little curious as I never heard of Raffles hotel units being “sold” before. These new developments are call condo hotel, or condotel for short. So they’re selling the “condo” part of the building and keeping the “hotel” parts exclusive. This is going to be a nice investment if you can afford one as it comes with a hefty price tag. Let’s just wait and see how this turns out – and how much!

Gats works in the real estate industry and sometimes he brings me along when he goes looking into the different condos in Makati and Fort Bonifacio. Just three (3) years ago when we brought our own condo there weren’t that much “options” to choose from – just a basic unit and an interior designed option of which you had to discuss the design with the developer’s designer of choice. These days, there’s already a furnished unit where all you need to do is move in. No need to fuss above the appliance and the type of “look” you want for your unit. Everything from the light switch to the type of faucets are planned in detail – and mind you they even offer high grade European or American Delta faucets and sinks with these options. With these types of end products all you need to do is bring your wardrobe and you’re set.

I was just checking some news flashes last night when I saw the headline saying that another round of gas price increase was done at P1.50/liter. Anobayan?!? Everything’s so expensive right now and these regular increases aren’t helping one bit. Just last year I was able to top off our fuel tank at around P1,500+, now it’s coming to around P2,400+!! And, we’re driving a 2.4 liter vehicle which consumes at 6 km per liter. There goes part of our monthly savings. These last few increases, I’m already tempted to turn-off the auto air conditioning, though that will be last resort due to our tropical climate of course.

are you deeply in love with your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend? if you do, let’s try how well you remember the moment of your life with him. but before you put yourself in the hot seat please read the rules of this tag first.
RULES:
1. this tag should be passed on to your friends.
2. visit the blog of the person who you got this tag from.
3. leave a comment on her/his tag post. be sure to thank her/him for this tag.
4. highlight and link all the list of people who accepted this tag by visiting their blog site.
5. there are 10 questions that you need to answer but you will be the one to write the 10th question for the next person you want to tag. Here are the questions. Please be honest with your answers.
1. how did you meet your husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend?
We were blockmates during college
2. where did you go on your first date?
Greenbelt. We watched a movie, but I can’t remember what the movie was
3. when was your first intimate kiss?
May 21, 1995. We officially became a couple the day after
4. how many girlfriends/boyfriends he/she had in the past? do you honestly know?
I was his first!
5. what is his/her ethnicity?
Filipino and a tad bit Chinese
6. what is his/her favorite food?
Nothing. REALLY.
7. what is he/she like if he/she is mad?
Never saw him mad. Ever.
8. what are the things he/she did you thought is the most romantic thing he’d/she’d ever done?
He isn’t exactly who you may call Mr. Romantic, but there were a couple of times during our 13 year relationship (
) that he truly surprised me
9. describe how he/you proposed to you.
He was nervous as hell!
Here’s a tiny bit of the story –
I already had a feeling that he will do the asking on the eve of my birthday. One clue that gave him away was his not asking me what I wanted for my birthday. Sa isip-isip ko, aba, hindi ito nagtatanong ng gusto ko, siguro tatanungin nako nito kung gusto ko nang magpakasal
On the night before my 27th birthday, I scheduled a dinner date with my closest friends despite my suspicions that it might be The Night. For the rest of the evening, Gats kept unusually quiet. On the way home from dinner, he was even more quiet! I knew at that point that I will be the future Mrs. Uy by the end of the evening. And I did.
10. Post one of your favorite wedding photos here.

Tagging Maver, Mich, and Abie.

I’m always wary of staying in cheap hotels when traveling because I believe that you get what you pay for (whether it be a hotel, a purse, or a pair of shoes). So if ever I get to chance to stay in one of those Hotels Paris or Hotels Sydney (an Australian trip may be coming soon!
), I’d most probably choose one that is not necessarily high-end, but one that is at least 3 stars. Anything below would probably get me whining endlessly
. Staying in cheap hotels with poor facilities just won’t do it for me.

Gats’ family has been asking us when we’ll be able to visit his sister in Maryland. Of course we have to go through getting a visa as Manu and I still don’t have one. Since my sister-in-law is already settled there we won’t be having problems with board and lodging of course even their family in California will hate us if we force a stay with any of the Los Angeles Hotels there. Somehow, its really the way of Filipino families visiting relatives in the US – you really have to stay with family and friends there. Of course staying in a hotel has been a tested formula with our little boy as we’ve tried Bangkok Hotels that are comparable with the Singapore Hotels he’s comfortable with. Personally though, I’d like to get a feel of what it’s like to stay on any of the more glamorous hotels (any famous New York Hotel will do) so I can put it down to experience

Na-pressure ako ni Jane eh! Eto na po!
As you’ve read on this post, Manu wasn’t able to attend his school’s official first day of classes since he nursed a fever the weekend before. But his health came back to normal immediately after his check up (thank God!) and so we got confident to send him to school the second day of the pre-nursery class.
It was no surprise that we almost arrived late at school (blame it on the mom! hihi). We were just so lucky that traffic was ultra smooth from our place to the school’s. In less than 15 minutes, we were already at the school’s gate.
I thought that his first day is going to be tough as he didn’t want to leave the car. Well, not until I carried him. I was only relieved when he let himself free and went roaming around the play area once we got inside the campus.
Since this was the school’s first week of classes, we were allowed to come inside the classroom with our kids.

Circle Time with Lead Pre-Nursery Teacher Marla. Here, they’re singing the “Hello! Hello!” song. Manu’s not singing though; he’s just doing the tapping thing that goes with the song. It would probably take him daysss before he sings this song (and the rest of them) the way he sings it at home

Thanks to Maver and Jammy for this. I hope my blog posts never fail to bore you

Rules in sharing Crytal’s Love:
Share this award with all those blogs out there that you love. All the people who make you smile. All those that make you laugh. All those that make your day. All those that leave uplifting comments on your blog. **All I ask, is that you include a link to this post with the award and ask your recipient to do the same**
As you may have recently seen on my side bar, I have finally created a custom blog award!! I have wanted to do this for a long time but never came up with something that “fit”. I didn’t want just anything. It had to be something that meant something to me. And what could mean more than Sharing the Love by giving you pieces of my heart??
So I created this award in Honor Of The Donor That Saved Noah’s Life. I share this award with those of you whose love and friendship have enriched my life and made my world a better place. I hope by passing this award around the blogging world we can all help raise awareness of the need for Organ Donation.
I am passing this to Apols, Jen, Gracie, Vannie, Jane, Peachy, Jody, and Jacqui. Share the love!
