After a week without internet connection plus four days in Hongkong, I AM BACK!
There’s a lot of things I’ve to catch up on — visiting blogsites, writing blog posts, meeting deadlines
(goodness,I think a couple had already lapsed. tsk. tsk), and finishing tons of work in the office. I still have a lot of unpacking to do, so in the meantime, I’ll leave you with a few good pictures taken from the window of our hotel room:

Ever since I turned 30, I noticed that my skin needs a little bit more primping than it used to. My lips look and feel drier, my eye bags are more noticeable, and as per my mom, lines are becoming visible. These are just a few reasons why I’m stuck in the internet all day looking for the best eye cream, moisturizer, and top wrinkle cream. Not that I need it now, but it wouldn’t hurt if I already start my research.

Going on our trip we wanted to be prepared for all the activities we had planned. With this is mind we debated whether we needed a portable stroller for Manu since we might end up carrying him all over Hongkong in case he doesn’t want to walk anymore. Since my husband and I both agreed that we’d need a stroller I didn’t have enough time to go shopping for one so I ended up browsing online. Luckily, shopping is made easy with shopping (search) engines! No need to do any last minute window shopping – just do it on-line.

Well we’re on our way to Hongkong and by this time my husband is already looking forward to going to the Swiss Army store nearest to our hotel. He’s such a sucker for Swiss Army stuff that he’s already built up a collection of items such as pocket knives, bags, watches and wallets. I guess I’ll know where to look for him when he goes missing in the next couple of days!

I can’t believe the number of dietary supplements out there, especially after I went only to find out what “Phentermine” meant. I’m so used to seeing no more than 5 names for a particular medication that a list of top 200 is really beyond me. With so much to choose from, how can one decide what to take? Through a doctor or the in-thing nowadays – through consumer watch surveys. I’d personally still seek professional advise though how can you really argue if there’s a big number of users saying otherwise. We’ve definitely turned into pill-poppers, the numbers says so!

We’re considering getting a laptop to replace our year-old desktop but we’ve been debating on a couple of major items regarding the obvious difference of these machines. My husband favors the desktop because it’s upgradable and customizable. I like the laptop because it’s portable and doesn’t clutter our workspace – though I abhor the small laptop memory and its limited upgrade. All are valid points though not really apples to apples to compare. Still, we’ll have to debate it out to see whether we finally get a sleek laptop or a powerful desktop in the coming months.

That’s where we’re staying during our travel to Hongkong. I’ve stayed in this hotel two years ago and for me, it was just okay. The superior room was spacious though I find the layout a bit outdated. The bathroom was memorable since it was the tiniest that I’ve ever seen, and also a little old-fashioned
. The location was superb though - as far as shopping is concerned
. It’s just right beside the mega-shopping centers, Ocean Terminal and Harbour City. In front are high-end designer shops like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, and Prada, among others.
I can be a bit fussy on the hotels I stay in. So before booking my accommodation, I do my assignment and research on several hotels. Here are some sites I’ve recently bumped into which, I think, are worthwhile considerations (you may notice that these are European Hotels. Could this mean I’m already planning on a tour to one of these cities? In the far future, yes
) : Milan Hotels, Barcelona Hotels, Madrid Hotels, Hotels in Venice.

I was already convinced that I could go out of the house donning a short dress. But boy, I was wrong. I was trying out some dresses that I just bought recently as I was planning on wearing them during our upcoming trip. The dresses looked good alright but I didn’t look good in them. Well, if you’d look from head to just below the knees, everything would look fine, but beyond that - forget it! My legs look huge!
(husband nodding his head right now). So unless I lose at least 10 more pounds, short dresses are banned in my closet (unless of course I put opaque tights or leggings underneath). So now, I’ll just mope and maybe read a book (The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch seems like a good read) before I finally get over the shocking sad truth.

Of late the term resort has been loosely used, especially among local development here in the Philippines. My husband pointed out a certain development in the US which is a “true” resort in the sense that it is actually a getaway place within large planned area. The place is called“Hilton Head rental” and is in-fact a mix of several resort areas and plantations, wherein “Plantations” are planned or gated communities. Family-oriented and is activity packed unlike our single-themed developments here (ie swimming, picnic, etc.). Hilton Head rental homes are plentiful and a family need to only choose where and what to do. Now that’s the type of vacation I would be looking forward to.
