Only the Best for Our Kid

Manu’s Little Gym ends next week and we’re already contemplating whether we should enroll him for another quarter or to already consider a playschool environment for him (this is why we tried the summer camp). Granted that our son is only 2 year 1 month old today we are already pondering about this and the other forms of investment we will be making for him in the coming years: playschool, pre-school, grade school – the list goes on and on!!. We never thought that being parents was this hectic – you’re already thinking years ahead. There’s this “want” to give anything and everything you can possibly can so our boy is well equipped for a bright future. But to do that amidst the rising prices of gasoline and commodities is really a challenge. Heck, we might even need to consult someone who can offer investment management advice just so we can balance our checkbooks. But I guess that’s really the sacrifice we give for our children so they in turn can give it to their children.

First Day at Camp

As Manu enters the nursery classroom, he immediately sees the sets of paints, paint brushes, and papers located at the art center. He heads straight towards them, sits down on the table, and begins painting. Here you can see him with Teacher Rica.

I could tell (and the teachers too) that my little boy loves painting. Here’s a couple of pics which show him painting together with his co-campers.

After painting on more than a couple of sheets, he decides to go to the block area as he sees some dinosaur toys (which is one of his favorites). Here you can see that a road and a tunnel were built for the dinosaurs to have somewhere to run :)

One of Manu’s favorite things inside the classroom are the school’s pet turtles, Thomas and Snap. Here you can see the little boy looking closely at them.

I believe they call this the Circle Time, where the kids are engaged in singing, dancing, and storytelling. Here is the part where they play with the scarves (this reminded me of a similar TLG activity :) ).

On this picture, you’ll see Manu holding a Triangle. This is the part where they let the kids try out different musical instruments.

There were other several activities during circle time, but unfortunately my camera wouldn’t cooperate (as usual).

By the end of the one hour class, Manu decides to give the bike a try. Ten minutes after, we headed home.

Yesterday was day number 5 of The Bridge School’s Summer Camp, and I could say that so far, so good. By the way he is behaving at camp, I think he’s ready to be more than a happy camper :)
