A Space for Manu

Three years occupying our condo and we still have unopened moving boxes in Manu’s room. Since we plan to have his room interior designed to get more useful space out of it as well as making it more a “kid’s room” than the stock room that it is right now. Its not that we want him out of our room anytime soon, it’s to give him more space for his toys and a regular playroom where he can make all his “mess”.

A Simple Tag

A Simple Tag by Meeya the Mrs. Working Girl.
.

Rule #1: Copy all the links below and replace a single link under the appropriate letter of the alphabet. If your domain name, or even the title of your blog, starts with an “A,” you’d replace the link under that letter and put the replaced link at the bottom. Also, don’t forget to credit the tagger, or where you got the list from, at the end of the list with a full URL of the post so that a pingback gets generated.

Rule #2: You now have to “tag” at least five people and encourage them to participate. Remember, though, that not everyone is into these kinds of things, so don’t be upset if they don’t participate. Just simply replace your tag. Remember to tag blogs only and no pornographic ones as we do want to keep the integrity as a blogging community.

I’m tagging Jacqui, Jody, Abie, Joy, Pat. Sige na, gawin nyo na ulit ito. :lol:

Bad Skin Week

I am having a terribly bad hair and skin week. My hair has grown several inches, and is beginning to reveal it being naturally curly. I have a feeling I’d be going to the salon in a couple of months to have my locks straightened (which is a physically and financially painful process :D ). And then three nights ago, I noticed tiny bumps on my face. I thought it would disappear the day after, but three days later, the itsy bitsy bumps were still there! I am now worried so I might schedule an appointment with my dermatologist this weekend. I’m already expecting to bring home several topical medicines to correct what’s on my face. Although I know that these will put a hole in my pocket, I am not complaining as I know I’d return to normal after the regimen. I’m hoping too that my skin continues to be its normal self once I start an Organic Skincare regimen. I plan to research more on it though before I delve into this new skincare routine.

MY LITTLE BugOY

One morning while we were preparing the little boy for school:

Me: “Manu, it’s time to brush your teeth.”

Manu: {not saying anything and hiding under the bed cover and pillows}

Me: “Yaya, paki toothbrush-an si Manu.” {as I was in a hurry — which is like, every morning!}

Yaya:Manu, brush teeth na.” {holding the toothbrush, ready to aim at the target}

Manu: “No!” {still hiding under the pillows}

And then I remembered an article that I read about getting your toddler to cooperate — provide the toddler choices, which will give him a feeling of freedom and control; rather than forcing something on him, which is more likely to be taken with resistance. Thus:

Me: “Manu, who do you want to brush your teeth? Mommy or Daddy?”

Manu: “MANU!”

Nyahahaha!

Two years old pa lang, bugoy na. :D

Missing the Big Screen

Ever since we had our little boy we’ve seen quite a few of the big event movies of the last 3 years. Previously we’d never miss those highly anticipated films that sure to be top-grossers or modern trilogies where people would be forming two long lines: one for buying the tickets and one for getting in. We miss the popcorn, soda, theater rope, and people crowding just to get into the movies. But i’m sure that pretty soon we’ll be forming in these type of lines again – this time for BIG kiddie movies!

Your House or Mine?

Good thing that we’re really not feeling the real estate crash in the US. Just imagine loosing the roof over our head ( though we won’t be as worried because we have our family, especially our parents, to count on during such times). The latest statistics show that 2.9 million homes have been foreclosed in the US – now how bad is that? We aren’t in the same state as the US market but we can very well learn from them. I saw a site with various topics on the matter, which might be of interest to some:

There are other readings out there which talk about the same issue. You’ll never know, the stuff you read might very well save your home some day.

Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother. ~Oprah Winfrey

Thanks, Vannie. You’re so sweet. I give it back to you and to the once strangers who have now become my friends because of one common factor - being a mother.

I went to Godiva Skin Station last night while I was waiting for Gats to leave the office. I’ve wanted to try their services for the longest time now because aside from the fact that their rates are really low compared with other skin clinics, I’ve been reading positive feedback about them.

While I was waiting for the attendant to finish her business with a client, I told myself not to give in to a seemingly excellent offer immediately as my “other” purchases would be in danger of taking the back seat (been meaning to buy swing sets for the little boy to complement his more-than-a-decade old slide :D ). Deep inside though, I already knew that my credit card would be taken out that night. Surprisingly, it wasn’t. I went out of the clinic even before the attendant could say hi to me since the husband was already waiting in the parking area. Good thing? A bit, as I was able to delay another expense :D

Because JOY needed to know…

I’m giving away my secret.

Here are the three men I find hot hot hot, and would take to bed with in a blink of an eye — IF I wasn’t married:

1. BRAD PITT

brad-pitt-beach.jpg

He may be such a cliche’, but I don’t care. Brad is Brad and Brad is HOT! I used to daydream about me accidentally meeting him in Amanpulo (how specific). What happens next is between him and me (sobrang nagfi-feeling ba? :D )

2. ROBIN PADILLA

robinpadillamenshealth.jpg

Remember the time when Robin was linked to the biggest names in showbiz (e.g., Kris Aquino, Sharon Cuneta, etc.)? I always wondered what they see in this guy. Hindi naman sya gwapo, I thought to myself. Until one fine day when me and an officemate decided to go to Festival Mall and look for some office furniture. Oh I stil remember it so well. There he was (with Regine Velasquez), shooting some scene for their movie. Oh. My. God. I was literally dumbfounded when I saw him. And GET THIS. My officemate, who happens to be a guy, was also left speechless by the dude! He was so oozing with sex appeal, I tell you! At that time, I totally understood why the likes of Sharon Cuneta could fall head over heels with Robin.

3. GERARD BUTLER

gerard1-1.jpg

Gerard Butler may not be as popular as Brad Pitt, but I have to say that he is much sexier! I first saw him on Tomb Raider - Cradle of Life. I didn’t find him hot then. Cute, yes - but not Hot — Hot. He only became the ultimate hot man for me when I saw him at 300. DROOL! DROOL! DROOL!

If you haven’t watched this film, then you have just missed a quarter of your life! Believe you me, this “King” will give you goosebumps all over. I don’t care if he hasn’t showered, nor hasn’t done his nails, I’d be his queen anytime. *drooling again*

I’m interested to know who your hot men are, Jen, Feng, and Gracie! :wink:

My husband has been working on fixing his sister’s condo this past few days and for such a meager task of removing an LCD tv we had to get their van for the work. You can just imagine what it would take if he took on the task of furnishing the place?!? I think there are companies offering this type of service but for the life of me we never really got in touch with one. We always had to borrow a delivery van or a pick-up to haul those large appliances. There should be local or national auto transport services available especially now when condo-living is at its peak. Talk about timing and opportunity – no business plan needed as you already have a captured market for this!
