My in-laws are currently preparing for their flight to the US to be with my sister-in-law when she gives birth this coming April. The family is all very excited with this new addition, since “Lou” will be the first girl grand-daughter – with “Manu” being the first ever grand-kid. Personally, I don’t think that I would have given birth in another country, other than the Philippines, a second thought. I mean, all my support groups are here: husband, family and friends. Even with the web, internet, and telecom (voip phones, calling cards and mobile phones) technologies around, I don’t think I would be comfortable without the necessary people around me. Granted that it only takes a fraction of a second to call from the US to the Philippines, I’d feel better with my husband at my side and my parents just outside the door, in case I need to see someone. So to my sister-in-law, Gay, good luck and take care! Mom and Dad will be there soon!
