More Than Just a Thumb in the Eye

The other night my 23-month old started playing around with a capless ball-pen. Being the safety conscious parents that my husband and I are, we automatically got hold of the item from him. This got me wondering what other sharp items my little boy might be able to get a hold off and play with while we’re not looking. We already have all sharp objects (scissors, pens, pencils and safety cutters) placed either higher up the shelves or inside drawers, I still can’t help but worry. Do you have any ideas out there on how to keep a room accident-free?

As stated.

Just 41% B*tchy

Snagged this one from Jen!

I was hoping to get higher than 50% (after all, I am a self-proclaimed bitchdom member wannabe. bwahaha!) , but at the same time, I already expected getting something just like this. The result proves to be true. I am exactly what the test scores say.

You Are 41% Bitchy

Generally, you’re an average woman, with average moods. But sometimes… well, watch out!
Sometimes, you let your mean side get the better of you. And you enjoy every minute of it.

How Bitchy Are You?

I am curious what the results will be for Apols, Jody, Vannie, Joy, Mich, Thea, Jacqui, and Jane.

Online Coupons

I recently purchased some items for Manu from an online store (credits to Peachy for introducing me to the site!). I saved a lot since the merchandise from this online merchant were on sale. But I could have saved a whole lot more if I used discount coupons from CouponChief.com, a one stop coupon deal and discount resource center. Good thing I found out about this before the easter “gift-giving” season comes. I’ll definitely take advantage of the huge discounts by using target coupon codes when I shop online at Target. I’ll also advise my husband to use amazon coupons from now on as he regularly buys books from Amazon.

8 Things About Manu

My Manu was tagged by Vannie’s Ozzy, Jody’s Margaux and BiancaThea’s Mikee, and Abie’s Bela

I had fun doing this. Thanks kids! :D

1. Manu loves anything Thomas (the Tank Engine), especially the trains.

7. Manu has three Tickle Me Elmo Extreme Dolls. Two of which died on us barely a week after their first use (thanks to Manu’s handling, or may I say mis-handling skills). The 3rd and last (promise last na talaga yan!) TMX doll is safely tucked inside the daddy’s closet. and won’t be opened until the adoraBoy’s 3rd birthday! Here’s TMX doll#1 during the good old days:

8. Just like Vannie’s Ozzy, Manu loves french fries. You can tell that he likes them that much as “pesh paysh” were among his first words!

For the “Green”-Minded Individuals

There’s been an influx, lately, of green products partly because of the movie-documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” and partly because a lot of people really care about taking care of our planet’s future. If you’re the type of person who’d bring a reusable shopping bag for groceries, would unconsciously segregate trash before throwing to the garbage cans or simply walk the next mile to conserve gas and avoid pollution; or if you want to take the first step into being environment-sensitive, then this website is for you: http://www.greenandmore.com/. GreenandMore.com offers hundred of eco friendly products of which you can compare your products at home to ensure its environmental friendliness. You can find everything from energy saving appliances, solar power products, home improvement, water conservation, eco furniture, lighting, garden products, outdoor living, home décor and accessories. What I like about the site is the “what’s new” page wherein the latest eco-friendly items are displayed.

For those who want to keep tabs on the latest “green” news or events, the site also has a blog page where everyone can read or even share information. A few minutes into the site and I already found myself intrigued with the effort put up to sustain eco-friendliness word-wide. I hope that I can do my part in creating eco-friendly lifestyle and encouraging others to do the same.

I’m tagging the five cool wives on my blogroll: Gracie, Jesse, Joanne, Juliana, and Marie

A bunch of people who’ll be reading this blog may not be familiar with the “Kelly” that I know and love, so allow me to give you a summary of what she’s all about – since a page or two won’t be enough to cover all her characteristics.  I’ll stick to the letters T-L-C to keep it short and sweet.

Tender.  Kelly can be the most stubborn person in the world when it comes to her appearance and wants, when it comes to her “lambing” she can be the sweetest.  She has the softest spot for Manu and would give everything (literally everything) so that our baby gets the best.  Syempre, it’s the same rin for me! But Manu will always come first.  She is gentle and warm, the perfect hug-mate!  And lately, Manu notices it too!  She’s very, very affectionate, whether she realizes it or not.

Loving (Love).  Her unwavering affection is evident regardless of the situation.  Will most often forget about herself just so we have everything we need.  The devotion she shows to her other profession that of being a full-time mom, is 2nd to none.  Our kid (and future kids) are so very lucky that you’re their mommy – and I’ll remind them regularly in case they start giving you headaches na.

Care (Caring).  How can anyone question the level of caring she gives to Manu and me, when the moment she wakes up until she falls asleep all she thinks about is our welfare. Whether we’re in the best of health or sick in bed, she’ll make sure that we’re taken care of, no matter how tired or sleepy she is.  She’d give all the time and attention we’d need and want, without batting an eyelash.  As for you naman Kell, don’t every forget to take care of yourself, though we’ll always do that for you din.

To wrap it up: We want to remind you that you don’t always need to pamper us — just weekly or bi-monthly is enough!  We want you to be always happy and healthy, kaya we’ll provide you with all the laughter and happiness we can give (promise).

So for this past year Manu and I give you a “9 out of 10.” Now before you go about complaining let me clarify this rating. You get a 9 since you’ve exceeded everything that a mommy and wife is all about, but you see nobody is perfect.  But, babe, you come very close. . . so very close!

Happy Birthday!

Dapa!

Sabay hataw ng sinturon sa pw*t.

That was what I’d hear from my dad every time I make a serious mistake. But that was decades ago, and that part of my life is done with. Now, am I angry and resentful of the spankings that my dad gave me? Surprisingly, no. I actually even believe that it made me the disciplined daughter that I am right now (*hears husband laughing*).

So would I resort to caning my son when the glares and time-outs don’t seem to work? Probably. That is, when he is old enough to understand the reason behind the action. But now when my two year old is too young to grasp the idea, spanking is a no-no. I had once spanked him when he was about 15 months, and after feeling terribly horrible of this incident, I swore not to lift a hand on my precious little baby again.

What is your take on this, Jane, Peachy, Nice?

Hunt for the Perfect Foundation

As tonight was the husband’s “badminton” night, I went home alone just with the company of my driver. But before I headed to the little one, I decided to do my regular rounds at the mall and maybe purchase an item or two which catches my fancy. And so I went to Powerplant, a top favorite which never fails to whet my fashion appetite. I went to Zara and tried on around six pieces, then to Adidas to buy Manu a new set of white sneakers. I almost bought the Superstar except that the store didn’t have Manu’s size anymore. And then I took a quick peek at Beauty Bar as I am currently looking for a good cream or liquid foundation which would suit my oily skin.

smashbox-photofinish-light-primer.jpgI looked into Smashbox’s line as I had just read a great review on its Photo Finish Light Primer on kikay exchange. I am really looking forward to trying this cult favorite, but I had to decide on a foundation first before making any purchases. I discovered they had an oil-free liquid foundation with spf so I thought this would probably be a great partner to the primer. I thought twice on purchasing the two products right then and there because I knew I could save a thousand bucks or so if I purchase them from an online store. I could probably save even more if I use coupons from Target or avail of free shipping if I use Macys coupons. I have to double check though if they carry the brand.
