On Top of Family Finances

Do you sometimes wish you could go back to being single? I do BUT only in terms of finances. Back in those days, I had my money all to myself – no utilities to pay, no household supplies to purchase, no mortgage payments to disburse. Now that I am a wife and a mom to a wonderful beautiful boy, I constantly am on top of these things. Not that I am complaining but sometimes I ask myself, “What if I get a loan for a big ticket purchase?”. More often than not, the answer to that is no since we are still currently paying two secured loans which we acquired from a financial institution. Also, both my husband and I are paying off credit card purchases from the past year. Speaking of which, I think we should compare credit cards in the market once we fully pay our obligations from our current credit card companies. In this way, we could choose which credit card brand will best suit our lifestyle, and lessen our credit card debt.

A Hug from my Friends

…particulary Jody, Vina, Jacqui and Thea

I needed this especially after that fall! A hug back to both of you and to all the mommy bloggers I’ve become friends with the past year.

Since a few of my husband’s relatives are in the AFP, I occasionally hear about bids on certain army supplies and equipment. Just as any other government agency, a supplier has to go through the tedious bidding process and hope (and pray, haha) that he wins. I wonder though, ever since I stumbled upon this certain supplier of army clothing in the internet, if our government would consider using the internet as a tool in dealing with suppliers?

My Life, Rated

Thanks Abie for this tag. I didn’t want to publish the results at first since I got a really low score the first time I answered the test. I actually didn’t believe I “failed” (my first score was in the line of 5’s) the test, so I took it again this morning and was happier with the results:

This Is My Life, Rated
Life: 7.3
Mind: 6.6
Body: 7.7
Spirit: 6.8
Friends/Family: 7.1
Love: 9.1
Finance: 8.8
Take the Rate My Life Quiz

I even scored a very high score on the Love aspect, thus was asked if I could explain how I manage to succeed in this aspect of my life :D Maybe I should just answer, “Everyday!” (Peace! Ayaw ko ng gulo! Sleep na lang ako!)

Would you like to take this test, Aiza? I know you are a sucker for quizzes :D

Catching Up on Some Zzz’s

I love to sleep. No doubt about that. I could sleep for twelve straight hours if uninterrupted. I sleep in the car even if it’s just a 40-minute travel. There’s just one tiny problem – sleeping in a car is not exactly the same as lying down on a bed as you’re always sleeping in a sitting position. Luckily someone invented the travel pillow. We have the inflatable type as we can easily let out the air and keep it in the glove compartment, but there are also the stuffed ones which may appeal to those who want their pillows softer. With the travel pillow, I can always catch up on some sleep while my husband is driving us to and from work. Now isn’t that convenient… for me?

Fab Awards

from pretty momma, Em!  Thanks!

I am passing these two awards to Thea.  I admire your creativity in producing fabulous scraps and wordpress themes!  I’m hoping to see more of your work (so I could replace my 3-month old template with one of your creations. hehe).

We have several computer units at the office that need to be maintained every so often. We do not have an IT department yet so it is the admin assistant who troubleshoots problems which are computer related. When she can’t handle the problem any longer, we usually call our PC supplier for service. Honestly, I am not really enthusiastic about this particular supplier’s work so I’m currently scouting for a company who could meet my expectations better. So if you know of a good computers services company who does network monitoring and management, virus removal service, office relocation and setup, and other similar services, let me know.

Four Things I Learned from the Mommy Bloggers Meet

One. Watch where you’re going so you won’t fall down, hurt yourself, and hurt your son in the process.

Yes dears. I fell down HARD while walking towards Starbucks to meet the mommies. And get this. Manu was wrapped around my arms! Good thing Gats was able to shield Manu from falling down too. Good thing too that no people were around to witness my slow-mo fall. Hahaha! Seriously though, it was one of the worst falls I’ve had. My left foot aches till now.

Two. Dark/Black underwear beneath that black Topshop shirt puhleez!

No need for explanations. You could see on the pictures.

Three. D-I-E-T!

Again. No need for explanations. You could see on the pictures.

Four. No need to drink coffee with Jacqui around. (labyu Jac! mwah!)

Going under the knife is something I will definitely consider when I give birth to my last child. I want to regain, if not, at least come close to my pre-pregnancy body. I do hit the gym and do aerobic exercises twice a week (not enough, I know!), but I believe that a little bit of cosmetic surgery would hasten the process of weight loss, and aid in contouring the body.

As I was doing research on liposuction and other weight loss procedures (yes I am doing this as early as now!), I realized that there are tons of information that I have to read through before I let somebody stick a huge needle inside me. Choosing a liposuction surgeon is one (I definitely do not want to be a victim of those fly by night doctors). Knowing the different types of liposuction is another (Should the tumescent liposuction fit me, or would the ultrasonic liposuction be better?). The cost associated is another thing as there is a hefty price tag on the procedure. But more than this, I am especially focusing on the risks and side effects as I do not want to experience complications as a result of the procedure. Good thing that liposuction is not anywhere on my two year plan so I guess I have more than enough time to think about it – though right now, I am so decided!

Male-Centered Products

Have you ever noticed that lately there have been ads about the male enhancement pill in male magazines? Or even website specifically selling such products? This wasn’t there a couple of years ago. Is there a significant market for this type of product? It just got me wondering, since our family is in the pharmaceutical business; whether the target market will even review the enhancement pill ingredients before they consider buying this. If so, I guess that pretty soon they’ll be putting in testimonials about the product/s just to boost sales.
