Papa Bobot was forced to buy Manu a Thomas and Friends train set a a couple of months ago because the adoraBoy wouldn’t stop playing with the train set at Maxitoylab, and just refused to leave the store. Of course, the parents were as happy as the little boy because it saved them a few thousand pesos. Sadly, Manu wasn’t able to play with his trains “properly” since the train tracks kept disengaging from each other. We needed to stick the tracks together and place them securely on a wooden board. We decided to buy the Sodor Map wooden board, but unfortunately, stocks won’t be available until the end of the year. We couldn’t wait any longer so Gats decided that he’d make one himself. After days of searching for a jpeg file of the sodor map, he finally got hold of one. I then immediately sent the file to my tarpaulin printer and after a few days, the map was delivered. Gats worked most of the night gluing and hammering the 30″ x 50″ tarp on the plywood board. By morning, the DIY sodor map board was ready, and may I say that it could beat the original one! Now all that needs to be done is to assemble the pieces of the train set together. It was a lot of work, but everything was worth it when we saw Manu having so much fun with his “chen”. Here are some pics of our kulit boy with his train set: Read more… »
